As part of a celebration of 20th Anniversary of Gender Studies programme at the Faculty of Humanities at Charles University, on 21 November 2025, CETE-P brought to Prague Estelle Ferrarese, Professor of Moral and Political Philosophy at Picardie-Jules-Verne University, France. She gave a lecture entitled Care as taking part. In her presentation, Prof. Ferrarese reflected not only on the importance of care as an affective practice, but also as a practice of involvement and active participation. In the current climate marked by brutality, which is evident in public and political debate and, above all, in current international conflicts, such participation is essential for the continuous building of civil society and interest communities.
The event was a cooperation between CETE-P, the French Research Center for Social Sciences and Humanities – Prague (CEFRES) and Charles University. The event was funded by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research, through the PARCECO scheme.
The talk was preceded by discussion among current teachers, who were either involved in the creation and accreditation of the Gender Studies programme or were associated with it as former students, and was followed by discussion of the program's graduates.
