2023 THROWBACK

CETE-P was established in January 2023. In the short time of its existence, the Center has organized several events with an emphasis on the link between environmental and technology ethics. You can read more about each event in the links below.

- Public Lecture – Kenneth Maly: Biocracy and Buddhism: A Phenomenology of Experience
- First CETE-P Forum – a unique event that brings together academics, NGOs, and policymakers to discuss the most pressing ethical issues concerning the environment and new technologies. Find the photos and a full report in the link.

An important part of CETE-P's mission is public engagement. We bring research topics into the Czech public debate through podcasts, interviews, and articles published in Czech media. The most notable media appearances can be found here.

PLANS FOR 2024

CETE-P will be even more active in 2024. The team will expand to include a new research team leader, postdoc researcher, and PhD researcher, as well as a new grant specialist. Additionally, research visits and stays are planned for international scholars. Don't hesitate to contact us for potential collaborations.

You can anticipate more public lectures, with the first ones scheduled for February and March. In May, we will host a workshop on the topic of AI Kitchens with Patrick Lin from California Polytechnic State University. CETE-P is also co-organizing the Summer School of Environmental Philosophy, to be held in Hejnice in June, designed for graduate students and advanced undergraduate students. Another international workshop is planned for September, followed by the second CETE-P Forum in October. During next year, we will also publish a new podcast series, in cooperation with Palacký University Olomouc and the Czech Radio.
