
Nicole Seymour is Professor at California State University, Fullerton, (USA), and works in the environmental humanities, focusing specifically on the relation between queerness, affect, literature, and other cultural forms. Her first book Strange Natures (2013) won the 2015 scholarly book award from the Association for the Study of Literature and Environment (ASLE). Her second book Bad Environmentalism came out in 2018 with the University of Minnesota Press.
During her stay with CETE-P, Nicole gave a lecture on "Comedy as White Immunity in U.S. Climate Fiction" and taught a master class "High and Dry: Climate Fictions of Flooding and Draught" at the Visegrad Environmental Philosophy Summer School (VEPSS, 1-7 June 2025 in Wrocław, Poland) that was co-organized by CETE-P.
