Julie Černá is Scientific Secretary at the Institute of Philosophy of the Czech Academy of Sciences and Deputy Head of its Centre for Classical Studies. At CETE-P she is Leader of Work Package 2 responsible for research team recruitment and the recruitment-related agenda and also member of Work Package 4 (Institutional Changes).

At the Centre for Classical Studies, she is member of the Department of Medieval Lexicography whose main task is the creation of Dictionary of Medieval Latin in the Czech Lands (1970-), a lexicon based largely on original research of printed editions as well as manuscript sources. As contributor to the Dictionary, her research interests include medieval medicine and ancient and medieval medical terminology.
